About

I am a political scientist and senior researcher at the Leipzig Research Centre Global Dynamics (ReCentGlobe), Leipzig University. I study environmental knowledge politics across scales — examining how expertise, authority, and knowledge claims are produced, contested, and put to work in global environmental governance.

Empirically, my research spans private certification initiatives, global expert organizations such as the IPCC and IPBES, and environmental (youth) movements. Theoretically, I work at the intersection of International Relations, political sociology, and Science and Technology Studies, developing concepts such as knowledge and expertise, epistemic authority, translation, and objects.

I obtained my PhD in political science from Freie Universität Berlin. Since then, I have researched and taught at Cornell University, UFZ Leipzig, the Centre for Global Cooperation Research Duisburg, and the Universities of Potsdam and Bielefeld.
